CASE IH UNVEILS NEXT GENERATION OF PATRIOT SPRAYER

The new Patriot 3330 sprayer from Case IH offers more power and increased productivity, and an optional 36 metre boom, says Case IH Marketing Manager Stuart Brown, who says the proposed Federal Government tax incentive makes now an ideal time to buy.

"The proposed tax incentive is very positive news for growers and contractors," he says. "anyone considering equipment purchases in the next 18 months would be well advised to take action now and ensure they take advantage of possible benefits that are on offer."

The Patriot 3330 retains all the benefits of its predecessor, the Case IH Patriot 3320, along with a host of new features.  "The Patriot 3320 offered excellent benefits in a mid-size self propelled sprayer but we wanted to make the new model even better," Stuart says. "We started with the engine. The Patriot 3330 sprayer features the same reliable Case IH 6.7-litre diesel engine used on the 3320, but its peak horsepower is increased by over 12 percent to 202kW (270 hp)." To provide future fuel flexibility the Patriot 3330 is approved for B100 fuel use (100% biodiesel) when following Case IH recommendations and requirements.

The Patriot 3330 also features a large cooling package ideal for Australian temperatures. "The key to the cooling system is a large-surface-area radiator to dissipate engine heat," Stuart says. "With a large surface area and wide fin spacing, the engine fan doesn't have to work as hard or be severely pitched to pull adequate amounts of air through the core and cool the engine."

The new model retains the cab forward, rear engine design of its predecessor, offering the best weight distribution over the front and rear axles of any sprayer in its class. "The design reduces field rutting and compaction, and therefore uses less fuel and enables operations to be carried out in paddocks earlier and later in the season. The Patriot 3330 sprayer frame has been uprated and includes doubler plates and gussets on key stress areas to ensure it can comfortably handle the additional boom weight."

Case IH also is introducing the AutoFold Plus boom fold/unfold feature as part of the 36 metre spray boom package. With AutoFold Plus, the booms are raised out of the cradle and the unfold process begins with the touch of a single switch. About 30 seconds later, the inner-, mid- and outer-boom sections are completely unfolded and the centre section height has lowered to its most recent setting. "This return-to-height feature eliminates any guesswork about boom height when moving from field to field," Stuart says.

The cab on the Patriot 3330 sprayer features all the same productivity-enhancing operator amenities found on the Patriot 3320 sprayer. "The unique rear engine position found on the Patriot sprayers isolates the operator from the noise and heat source that is common with other designs" Stuart says. "Operators put in many hours during the course of a day, so it's important they're as comfortable and productive as possible."

The 3330 and Case IH's Patriot 4420 sprayer are available with optional AIM Command, a unique system that maintains constant droplet size and pressure regardless of speed. This technology uses pulse width modulation technology to allow operators to control spray pressure independently of ground speed and application rates. AIM Command provides the optimum solution in drift control without sacrificing droplet size and therefore application efficacy.

To take advantage of the proposed federal government tax incentive, the Patriot 3330 sprayer is available to order from a Case IH Application Equipment dealer today:
