CANEGROWERS NEED THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT TO GET SUGAR HIGHS

Current high sugar prices are good news for canegrowers - but to make the most of the buoyant market, they need reliable, specialist equipment, according to Case IH Marketing Manager Stuart Brown.

"High prices mean growers can put themselves in a position to generate healthy returns next season," Stuart says.

"Growers who want to really capitalise on the strong sugar pricing need to think about their on-farm productivities and efficiencies. Equipment that can boost their productivity while helping them manage fuel and maintenance costs is vital to ensuring growers set themselves up for future productivity and profitability."

Stuart says Case IH's cane equipment range is purpose-built for the industry, with features specifically designed for cane operations. "For example, we have developed a Sugar Special Puma tractor range which offers a 19 speed, 50 km per hour, full Powershift transmission that lessens the burden of haul out transport. The Sugar Special range also includes active front axle suspension, pneumatic and hydraulic trailer brakes, performance monitor and wide rear fenders to ensure the best possible performance in the cane fields."

Sugar Special Pumas are currently being offered with free three-year warranty cover under

Case IH's REDCover program. "Extended warranty means farmers can feel secure in their investment - and because you can save up to $22,000 on a Sugar Special Puma tractor, it's really a perfect time to buy," Stuart says.

"We're offering a great deal on our Austoft 8000 Series harvesters, too - a free AccuGuide upgrade worth over $21,000. The 8000 Series harvesters are the ultimate choice for growers looking for excellent cane quality and ultra-clean samples. They feature a new engine and cooling package, engine management system, hydraulic system and harvesting functions, for outstanding versatility, performance and reliability. The AccuGuide upgrade means growers can now also get autosteering accuracy to within 2.5cm when using a community radio network or by adding an optional RTK base station."

Stuart says these deals apply to orders placed before the end of the year. "For growers who need a new tractor right now, we can offer great deals on Puma run-out stock. There's a range of models and specifications available to match the specialty needs of your operation and existing equipment.

"And remember that the Federal Government's 50 per cent Small Business Tax Break is available to eligible customers until 31 December - so growers who take advantage of any of these offers may qualify for this tax incentive."
